With only 17 days left to go until we start the
Police Unity Tour, our
whole team
(with PUT Jerseys on)
(with PUT Jerseys on)
set up one of our last training rides to
go from Tacoma to Bremerton, Washington, a 62 mile round trip. The
planning of the route was the easy part, the hard part was trying to find a day
where everyone could get together
and have the weather cooperate.
So Sunday the 21st was selected with
the hope of Sunshine.
Even in the rain, we made this trip happen.
Our goal was to
get 62 miles in on some good rolling hills.
And as you can see here, 2,887 feet
of elevation gain was a good work out.
But our second, and I think more important goal of this trip, was to ride
to the
Washington State Patrol office in Bremerton
where Trooper Tony Radulescu had worked
out of for many years.
Washington State Patrol office in Bremerton
where Trooper Tony Radulescu had worked
out of for many years.
We wanted to ride there and present
to the Troopers that work there, and had worked side by side with Trooper Tony,
a plaque.
We wanted to let them know that their coworker, who passed in the Line of Duty
over a year ago, has not been forgotten.
And that we will be riding in honor of him during our trek in the
Police Unity Tour.
So even
though it was a soggy and cold day, our ride was worth the hills and wet
clothes we went through.
